MORE REASONS TO DONATE TO SARAH PAC: So Sarah Palin used her PAC to buy $63,000 worth of copies of her own book "in order to mail copies of the memoir to her donors, newly filed campaign records show." This is a favorite move of conservative organizations. Get donations, buy tons of your own books with those donations, and then offer donors direct-mailed copies of the books that they can purchase by… donating more! The authors get more royalties and can brag about how they all reached #1 bestseller status in the New York Times, despite its liberal math policies, and the fact that books are gay and elitist, etc. ABC News

The Supreme Court's Partisanship by Bob Parry Link

Excerpt:
The Court's landmark ruling that lets corporations spend all they want to punish political enemies and reward political friends is a reminder that the panel's Republican majority has become one more potent weapon in the Right's already intimidating arsenal.

Over the past several decades, the American Right has assembled such an array of political weaponry – ranging from a vast propaganda apparatus that defines "reality" for tens of millions of Americans to specialized attack groups that can target troublesome figures in the press or academia – that it's hard to envision how this powerful grip on U.S. democracy can now be broken.

The Right's influence is so wide and so deep that it can front for wealthy special interests under the guise of "populism" and persuade many Americans that their real enemy is not Big Corporations, but Big Government.

Guided by Fox News and other well-financed parts of the right-wing media, the Tea Partiers apparently believe they are engaged in a movement to free the Republic from the tyranny of the federal government, when they're actually helping consolidate the power of corporations against the only force that can possibly check corporate domination, a democratized federal government.

About Yoo...

So the next President (well, Republican President) who wants to have somebody murdered -- preferably a foreigner -- and gets some Justice Department hack to say he can do it -- by the logic of this precedent, it's just "poor judgment" but nothing too untoward.

It's legal as long as the President says it is. Didn't we settle this 35 years ago?

"The decision I took -- and frankly would take again - was: if there was any possibility that Saddam could develop WMDs, we would stop him. It was my view then and that is my view now." - Tony Blair, on why 5,000 American and British lives are a cheap price to pay when it comes to the possibility that, someday, a fully contained Saddam might get WMDs. Link

Blair doesn't really believe that - but he's stuck.
What's he going to say, "I wish I hadn't help kill those 5,000 soldiers?"

Taking on "climate alarmists"

Rep. Kerry W. Gibson
Utah House of Representatives

Dear
Rep Gibson,

As an admirer of the oil industry and the humble, god-fearing CEOs who lead it, I want to thank you for taking on the sciencislamunistofascists with your
resolution on global warming.

I particularly enjoyed the part where the resolution calls them, "climate alarmists," and accuses them of committing a "climate data conspiracy." I suspect a real climate expert like Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter must have helped out with the language--it sounds that authoritative.

I also enjoyed the part where you accused the seditious scientists of "manipulating or pressuring peer-reviewed publications to keep contrary or competing scientific viewpoints and findings on global warming from being reviewed and published." It's no wonder none of our researchers allow their work to be peer reviewed--the bastards will just tear it apart.

And then there's the part that says "federal government grants may have influenced the climate research focus and 54 findings that have produced a "scientific consensus" at research institutions and universities." Of course that's the case. The oil industry can't compete with that kind of funding. It's far too busy researching new ways to store money.

I hope you're planning to sponsor other resolutions like this one. We need to hit sciencislamunistofacism on every front. They've gotten away with dismissing anything faith-based for far too long. It's time the government forced scientists to admit that
Native Americans are Jews, how underwear can save lives, and that God lives on a planet in Kolob's solar system.

You have the power to make it happen.

Heterosexually yours,

Gen. JC Christian, patriot

Because it's always about Trig

Perhaps dimly conscious that she had not been in any headlines recently, Scarah decided to disdain the White House chief-of-staff (and massacre the English language) in a Facebook posting last night.

Here's her Olbermann-esque comment as part of a long, barely literate rant on her Facebook page.

And who was it who referred to Obama as "Sambo" again?
