Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives. ~ John Stuart Mill English economist & philosopher (1806 - 1873)

The Blood on Bush's Hands

In its most extensive death tally of the Iraq war, the U.S. military says nearly 77,000 Iraqi civilians and security officials were killed from early 2004 to mid-2008 — a toll that falls well below Iraqi government figures.

Now Obama's hands are bloody.

Anti-Abortion Teabagger Carl Paladino Is The Landlord For Planned Parenthood

Remember when Carl Paladino said that he opposes abortion in every circumstance, even in cases of incest or rape? Apparently that objection doesn't extend to being paid rent from the Planned Parenthood clinic in a shopping center he owns. In fact, Paladino even cited the presence of the Niagara Falls abortion clinic in a petition requesting a special tax exemption on the complex.
"It's very hypocritical. He wants to make money and he will bend his religious and political beliefs for it," said Jamie Merritt, 31, of Paladino as she entered the center for an "emergency" appointment. "If I felt strongly and was so against abortion, I would not allow Planned Parenthood on my property," added Merritt, a Buffalo waitress. Paladino, the GOP gubernatorial hopeful, has said he would approve of abortion only in cases where a mother's life is in peril. Planned Parenthood Advocates of New York President Tracey Brooks accused Paladino of "talking out of one side of his mouth" against abortion while "renting and accepting money from health-care centers he's looking to cut funding to."
Paladino's campaign said the Planned Parenthood office was grandfathered into the shopping center's lease when he bought it and that he can't do anything about it. But he will use the clinic to ask for special tax breaks.

The View: Whoopi & Joy Behar Walk Off Stage During O'Reilly Interview

###

WTF?

Christine O'Donnell during last night's debate:

"Well if you remember when we were fighting the Soviets over there in Afghanistan in the '80s and '90s, we did not finish the job, so now we have a responsibility to finish the job and if you are gonna make these politically correct statements that it's costing us too much money, you are threatening the security of our homeland."

When, exactly, were we fighting Soviets in Afghanistan during the 1990s? And how should we have finished the job after they, you know, totally bugged out?

There is no more ignorant, misinformed, shit-for-brains, fear-mongering, lying fool running for Congress than Nevada's Sharron Angle.  At a Tea Party rally last week, Angle took the following question from an equally ignorant teabagger.

"I keep hearing about Muslims wanting to take over the United States … on a TV program just last night, I saw that they are taking over a city in Michigan and the residents of the city, they want them out. They want them out. So, I want to hear your thoughts about that."

Angle's response.

"…we're talking about a militant terrorist situation, which I believe it isn't a widespread thing, but it is enough that we need to address, and we have been addressing it."

"My thoughts are these, first of all, Dearborn, Michigan, and Frankford, Texas are on American soil, and under constitutional law. Not Sharia law. And I don't know how that happened in the United States. It seems to me there is something fundamentally wrong with allowing a foreign system of law to even take hold in any municipality or government situation in our United States."

The woman who affirmed by her response that she believes at least two American cities are currently under Sharia law is now leading Harry Reid by a slight margin in the polls.

A person who believes that demonizing Muslims by way of outright lies is acceptable politics might very well become a United States Senator.

Something is terribly wrong with this country.

Good for them! It's also good for the environment and for helping local farmers.

The portrait of rogue soldiers at a forward operating base in Afghanistan has been painted by the Army itself in chilling charge sheets leveled at 12 members of the 5th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, based out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord outside Tacoma, Washington.

Five of the dozen are charged with pre-meditated murder in what investigators call the
"staged" killings of three civilian Afghans. Those soldiers and the others face various other charges as well from unlawful use of illicit drugs, possession of a human skull, fingers and leg bones to the assault on Stoner.
Two directives have been sent to military and civilian attorneys representing the Stryker dozen. They involve grisly photos allegedly showing dead bodies and body parts, and soldiers posing as if they had killed a deer on a hunt.

...

These people are going to come home to us.

Afghan corruption
Well, isn't this interesting:
In a move that could further strain Washington's already fraught relations with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, federal prosecutors are considering an indictment against his brother for tax evasion, according to a U.S. official and a source familiar with the investigation. ... A source familiar with the investigation said Mahmoud Karzai is expected to be indicted by a federal grand jury in U.S. District Court in Manhattan "The $64,000 question is when," said the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because no indictment has been made public.
The IRS is involved with this because Mahmoud Karzai is an American citizen and, as such, he is subject to Federal tax law.

In Canada, at least. Our own FDA may issue an opinion or ruling sometime between tomorrow and the death of the Sun, albeit probably closer to the latter date than the former.

On the next 'Law and Order: First Lady Unit

Tell it to the judge, missy!

"First lady Michelle Obama appears to have violated Illinois law — when she engaged in political discussion at a polling place!" Wha? Oh no! Exclamation point, for sure! After Michelle Obama finished turning in her early-voting ballot today (DRUGE SIRENS! Update your residency, miss! You live in D.C.!), some voters asked if they could take a photo with her. She obliged but ended up telling one of them "how important it was to vote to keep her husband's agenda going." DRUDGE SIRENS! That shit's illegal!

This is pretty cool This non-partisan voters guide is different than anything you have ever seen before. Click the link, type in your zip code, and it takes you to a page that shows every candidate in every race, how much cash they have on hand, as well as a link to take you to your state's ballot initiatives. Give it a look, then bookmark it.

We can't imagine why anyone would be offended by this... "A Grand Junction billboard depicting President Barack Obama as a terrorist, a gangster, a Mexican bandit and a gay man is getting national attention. ... The billboard, erected along the I-70 Business Loop between 28 1/2 and 29 roads sometime Monday, depicts the four "Obamas" sitting around a table with playing cards showing only sixes bunched in groups of three. ... While it's unknown who paid for the billboard, the artist is Loma resident Paul Snover. ... "I am not allowed to say who (paid for it) at this time," Snover said in an e-mail Tuesday. "If it had been me, I would have included the Republicans as part of the problem." ... Still, Snover's political views are well-known. An Internet search of the self-described "constitutionalist libertarian" revealed numerous blog postings in which he talks about his support for tea party and 9/12 groups."
