Bristol Palin's music video even worse than Levi's somehow

This is what she looked like and was doing when she caught Levi's eye, we guess.

It is ABSOLUTELY IMMORAL that Levi Johnston would trade on his Palin fame by appearing in a music video. That family's life is private and should not be exploited for money. What's that? Teenage girls' anti-abortion hero and Dancing with the Stars personality Bristol Palin is appearing in a music video also? Well good for her! Except that this is the most dreadful thing we've ever seen. For some reason it's filmed in an Alaska "ice hotel" and Bristol is wearing some sort of Stevie Nicks witch costume. And also she is groping a giant ice dildo with a rose encased in it, because that is how you win an MTV video trophy for "Best Original Ice Dildo." You can watch Bristol cast a spell on you with more of her amazing acting skillz after the jump! READ MORE »

Supporting Republicans is Like Putting Your Trust in a Man-eating Shark Who Promises to Carry You Safely Across the Waters

If only we had Bill to kick around

According to the editors of the New York Times, what the world needs now is a bunch of Republicans firing up the nostalgia machine, wishing they had Bill Clinton back:
In many ways, Republican nostalgia for Mr. Clinton is a brew of selective memory, convenient disregard for the bitter partisan battles that marked his tenure and longing for a time when major bipartisan legislation, like the North American Free Trade Agreement, was possible.

Yes, if only the planets aligned again, the weather cleared, and the appropriate forms of sacrifice were offered up to the gods, then we could once again have a time where major bipartisan legislation was possible.  Because bipartisanship is elusive, like a will o' the wisp—it can't be brought about by mere human agency, and, as President Obama has shown, it tends to recede when approached.  Apparently, it is also followed by impeachment of the leader who brings it about, but let's not let that unpleasant reality intrude on our 1,000 word thumbsucker.

Jill: And yet the media are still treating her as if she's the next president

The Chamber of Commerce is having a little shindig with its foreign contributors, you know, the people who aren't supposed to donate to American election campaigns.

Remember those quaint times when Republicans were so frothy at even the hint of a foreign political contribution. Now, of course, they glom onto them with both hands.

In perhaps the most important decision since Roe v. Wade or maybe even Thomas Jefferson v. Illegitimate Slave Children, a federal judge upheld Barack Obama's sinister "health insurance for everyone" death pyramid scheme. Legal scholars around the world are puzzled as to why the judge ruled in favor of Communism and against the patriot-plaintiffs, a "Christian legal group and four people" (who are not Christians?). But oh well, Barack Obama's evil law forcing every American to have health insurance by 2014 (and fining people for skipping coverage) is legal! There is a case just like this one currently being argued in basically every single state, so the hope is that maybe a judge with half a brain will rule in favor of impeaching Obama. Southern Baptist leader on yoga: Not Christianity - A Southern Baptist leader who is calling for Christians to avoid yoga and its spiritual attachments is getting plenty of pushback from enthusiasts who defend the ancient practice.

Note: good, white Christians should denounce yoga, but do not denounce killing brown people, for this does not conflict with the core teachings of the bible. Like so many of the Tea Party members, often conservative Christians themselves, it is understood that billions of dollars may be given to war profiteers and malignant corporatists and not an eyebrow shall be raised up, or an utterance of protest be sounded, for these acts are in accord with the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, the Prince of Peace. Amen.

Most of 'the American people" would prefer you

crawl back under the mudflats from whence you came (via Idaho, of course):

Former vice-presidential hopeful and governor of Alaska Sarah Palin told a small studio audience during the taping of a Newsmax.com webcast Wednesday in West Palm Beach that she would run for president in 2012 if "the American people" want her to.
