This BBC story on the hack was timestamped 5:32 AM Eastern Time. It is 11:30 AM Eastern Time as I write this. Why is it still up? Fox News is aware that this Twitter feed was hacked. Why are there no later tweets disavowing these posts? And don't you think Twitter has an obligation to take these down?

The grand prize of the Miss America pageant is $50,000 toward college tuition, roughly the cost of one year at a typical private school. Teresa plans to use her fund to attend Patrick Henry College, a small liberal-arts school in Purcellville, Virginia, founded in 2000 by a Christian home-schooling activist. Eighty percent of its student body comes from a home-schooling background, like Teresa. Also like Teresa, many of Patrick Henry's students hope to work on Capitol Hill. (She plans on becoming a Nebraska congresswoman before becoming president.)
In just its first five years, the school came to rival Georgetown in the number of internships its students earned in the White House. It is also distinguished by the intensity of its religious commitments. Matriculating students are required to sign a Statement of Faith acknowledging the existence of Satan, expected to seek parental approval in romantic decisions, and prohibited from dancing on campus.
Paul Krugman on the idea of a "Tax Holiday" during which corporations can repatriate the cash piling up inside their overseas tax-dodging havens.
The Republicans would like you to believe that we're living under the "most anti-business president ever," but the truth is we're actually living under the "most anti-american regime of business ever."
Corporate America is sitting on massive amounts of cash, and they aren't hiring because, as far as they are concerned, there's no reason to. And it's true that consumer demand is currently depressed because of high unemployment and record-low tax revenue which is leading to budget-cuts at the state and federal level, but Corporate America is still raking in record profits by squeezing more productivity out of a desperate workforce who is simply happy to have a job.
The government is the only force with the power to create enough demand to break Corporate America's stranglehold on the economy, but as long as the Republicans have the power to block any and all legislation which may do so, we will be stuck in the nonsensical and self-serving cycle of austerity.
Removing the Republicans from the House of Representatives in 2012 has to be a priority.

It's a bad law that will have tragic consequences, but what the NRA wants, the NRA gets. "Pediatricians and other doctors soon will not be allowed to ask patients or their parents whether they have guns at home. Pediatricians commonly ask this question as a prelude to discussing gun safety in order to prevent accidents. Florida's governor, Rick Scott, is expected to sign this bill, and doctors will be liable for a $500 fine simply for asking that question and recording the answer in the patient's medical record. ... The main backer for this bill is the NRA (National Rifle Association). ... If the doctor repeats the question in subsequent visits, he/she may be liable to even heftier fines."

The scope of the Exxon Mobil oil spill in the Yellowstone River grew this weekend, extending far beyond the initial section of contaminated river. The company now estimates that up to 42,000 gallons of crude oil have spilled in the famed waterway.
Of course, Exxon Mobil officials claimed there had been no sign of harmed wildlife so far:
UPDATE 7 a.m.: Gov. Brian Schweitzer says statements from ExxonMobil officials that no injured wildlife had been found were premature.
"For somebody to say at this early stage that there's no damage to wildlife, that's pretty silly," Schweitzer told the Associated Press on Saturday. "The Yellowstone River is important to us. We've got to have a physical inspection of that river in small boats — and soon."
The Billings Gazette has published photos of soiled pelicans and turtles. The Environmental Protection Agency said it can't confirm any damage to wildlife or fish kills, but investigators were checking and the federal agency expected to know more Monday.
Here's one of those photos:
