Vatican says "No" to Victims Link

Pope Benny the rat (R-Enabler), accused by victims' lawyers of being ultimately responsible for an alleged cover-up of sexual abuse of children by priests, cannot be called to testify at any trial because he has immunity as a head of state, a top Vatican legal official said on Thursday.

The interview was published as Pope Benedict led Holy Thursday services in St Peter's Basilica and  Catholics marked the most solemn week of the liturgical calendar, culminating on Sunday in Easter Day.

In the morning the pope blessed oils for Church services during the year, and in the evening in the Rome basilica he washed the feet of 12 priests to commemorate Jesus' gesture of humility the night before he died.

But on the day Catholics commemorate Christ's founding of the priesthood, the pope did not refer in any of his sermons to the crisis of confidence sweeping the Church as almost daily revelations surface of sexual abuse of children in the past, accompanied by allegations of a cover-up.

What a phoney this charlatan is.

He washes the feet of 12 priests to show what a "humble, common man" he is, then he claims "You can't get me for those ten thousand rapes because I'm the Head of State."

800 Cases Filed on Civilians Killed in US Wars: ACLU

WASHINGTON — More than 800 complaints have been filed by families of civilians killed in US military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, a civil rights watchdog said citing documents made public Thursday.

The 13,000 pages of documents made public by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) include "more than 800 claims for damages by the family members of those killed, including many that were denied," the group said in a statement.

Oh dear.

The evil is starting to leak through his pores.

Update: Oh, yes. Pedophile priests are being persecuted JUST like the Jews!

So let me get this right: the ex-Hitler Youth Pope, who failed to prosecute pedophile priests who raped literally hundreds of little kids (thousands? who knows), including at least 200 deaf little boys, decides on Good Friday to say that criticizing him is equivalent to centuries of anti-Semitism?

Christ is going to have to die for your sins all over again, Ratzi. Jesus, what is wrong with you people?

UPDATE: The Exorcist speaks! Father Gabriele Amorth, 85, told the Catholic News Agency that "because he is a marvelous Pope and worthy successor to John Paul II, it is clear that the devil wants to 'grab hold' of him."

He added that the pedophile clergy were also blameless. The devil, you see, "uses" them to baselessly smear the church. "The devil wants the death of the Church because she is the mother of all the saints," he added.

GOP Backs Away From Repealing Healthcare Reform

Healthcare reform is the worst thing ever. It will destroy the economy -- such as it is -- and shutter small businesses. Woe be unto the nation, for surely we are doomed.

Still, there's hope on the horizon: http://griperblade.blogspot.com/2010/04/gop-backs-away-from-repealing.html

"Three shark in attacks in Florida, million of sharks in the ocean, and no one will go in the water. Hundreds and thousands of children raped in churches and people still send their kids to church. It's crazy. You should be sending your kids to gay bars. There they will be be safe." - Dan Savage, speaking on his latest podcast.

The FBI is warning state governors today that recent letters sent by the militia group Guardians Of The Free Republics may provoke violence against them. The group has mailed letters to dozens of governors saying that if they don't resign, they'll be taken out by unnamed means.

In this clip, a supporter of the Guardians displays his weapons, talks about Barack Obama's birth certificate, and provides shopping advice about stocking food supplies for the coming civil war.

The price of oil and gasoline is going up. Not because of increased demand or because of shortages in production or refining capability. The rise in price is due to speculation.

So, when you go to the gas station to fill up your car or when you have a delivery truck fill up your heating oil tank and you notice that you're paying more than last time, you can thank the greedy bastards on Wall Street for reaching into your wallet yet again.

About 3,000 homeowners, mostly in Florida, Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana, have reported problems with the Chinese-made drywall, which was imported in large quantities during the housing boom and after a string of Gulf Coast hurricanes.

The drywall has been linked to corrosion of wiring, air conditioning units, computers, doorknobs and jewelry, along with possible health effects. Tenenbaum said some samples of the Chinese-made product emit
100 times as much hydrogen sulfide as drywall made elsewhere.

"Trendy Fashion Buys Reimbursed as 'Office Supplies' to RNC Finance Officials":

Listed on the report in the category of "office supplies" are purchases from a New England winery and a Capitol Hill liquor store, as well as more than $3,800 from a Florida clothing store. The category of "meals" also seems to extend to the sartorial, with a $450 purchase from a high-end Manhattan boutique—one that has no restaurant or take-out shop on the premises—falling into that category, as listed on the RNC's reports to the FEC. That purchase, as well as one for more than $500 from the Florida clothing store, are attributed to RNC Deputy Finance Director Debbie LeHardy, who, according to the report, was reimbursed for them.
[...]
In February, as the RNC's finance chiefs gathered in Boca Grande, Florida, for their Finance Leadership Meeting—the meeting at which the RNC's "fear" strategy for donors was revealed in a telling PowerPoint presentation—the RNC made purchases totaling $3817 at Fugate's. On its report, the RNC labels the purchase as "office supplies," but Fugate's general manager Nancy Blank says her store doesn't sell office supplies. Fugate's sells men's and women's clothing and accessories, Blank told AlterNet. "We're a specialty department store," she said.

Okay, so I guess the upscale Boca Grande restaurants must be too exclusive to have a spare sports jacket and an couple of ugly ties stashed behind the hostess station for lowly RNC drones who show up in khakis and polo shirts. At least the Fugate's customers didn't have to catch their own dinners….

Records also show that LeHardy received reimbursement for $282 spent at Boca Grande Outfitters, which bills itself as "the area's most complete saltwater fly fishing and light tackle outfitter." The report designates the reimbursement for "meals." Aaron Sutcliffe, a clerk at BGO, said the store doesn't sell food.

Bill O'Reilly did something nice.

When the hateful fu**ers of the Westboro Baptist Church protested at the funeral of a Marine who was killed in Iraq, the father of the dead Marine sued those miserable sacks of protoplasm. The
4th Circuit Court of Appeals ordered the father to pay the legal fees of the air-breathing asshats. Bill O'Reilly heard about it and stepped in to pay those fees.

Good for you, Bill-O.
