The hideous un-christian right

I've heard this sort of whispered about in wingnut circles, but I've never seen one come right out and say it before:
"The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children," said Marshall, a Republican.

"In the Old Testament, the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There's a special punishment Christians would suggest."

His "statistic" is total bullshit, of course. But that's par for the course with these fine fellows isn't it? Just make things up to make your point.

But it's an especially disgraceful un-Christian way to characterize disabled kids --- as punishments for their mothers' alleged misdeeds. It's been a while since I went to church, but I don't think most Christians believe that.

What horrible people these are.

The US Ambassador to Libya and three other diplomats were killed last night during a mob attack on the embassy in Benghazi. The embassy in Cairo was also attacked. Both riots were over 9/11 and a stupid amateurish movie trailer produced by an Israeli Jew living in the US who holds the subtle, thoughtful position that "Islam is a cancer". The movie portrays Mohammed as a philanderer who approved of child sexual abuse.

Before any of the violence occurred in Cairo or Benghazi, the US embassy in Cairo issued a statement condemning the film saying, in part, "we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions". After the attack, the Obama Administration issued a statement condemning the attacks. Here's the GOP response:

That tweet was after the Romney campaign issued a statement saying that the Obama Administration's first response was to "sympathize with the attackers". The statement also criticized the Cairo embassy's efforts before the riots to defuse the crisis by using Twitter to emphasize the statement.

These assholes just don't care about the consequences of the lies they tell, if they think it will move Romney in the polls. And, of course, the MSM is going to give them a big old pass. Here's the Times:

Apparently unaware of the timing of the first embassy statement, the Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, put out a statement just before midnight Tuesday [...]

"Apparently unaware" my ass.

"I was on the phone to Salt Lake City, doing a radio interview. The interviewer interrupted to say there were reports that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. I hung up and turned on the small TV in the office."

"Someone rushed into our office and said a plane had hit the World Trade Center. I turned the small TV on desk there and watched in shock as flames and smoke erupted from the north tower."

Good. He broke all kinds of rules that he agreed to live by. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta will seek prosecution of the Navy SEAL who wrote the book about the bin Laden raid.

Breitbart takes 'fact-check' craze to logical conclusion: bin Laden is alive and GM is dead

Everybody's boo-hooing about the fact-check craze sweeping the nation, whether it's sane, reasonable people laughing at AP's ridiculose "fact check" that stated Bill Clinton was wrong to point out a Romney welfare ad lie, because Clinton once lied about all the intern snatch he was pulling, or the goons of Red State telling their minions that if they quote a fact checker, they will be banned. BANNED! And they don't even have to threaten a skullfuck or call something tarded to earn that distinct honor! But someone has managed to scale the heights of fact-check crazy, and that person, obviously, is Ghost Andrew Breitbart, with his counterintuitive fact-check claiming that despite Joe Biden's bumper sticker-ready slogan, and all evidence to the contrary, Osama Bin Laden is not in fact dead, and General Motors is not in fact alive! That, as someone recently lied because he got poontang once, takes some brass! READ MORE »

Useless old spite bitch Joe Arpaio was planning a big smelly Birtherfest for September 22, but now it looks like instead of hanging out with Pat Boone (who is still alive, apparently?) and heroic order-disobeying Army doctor Terry Lakin, he will just have to spend the day doing his job as Maricopa County Sheriff instead, because the event was cancelled due to abysmal ticket sales. In case you were wondering if the dog-whistles you've been hearing at Fox suggesting that President Obama is a secret Muslim who wants to destroy America might get a little louder, Obama-hating author Kate Obenshain gave an answer last night on Sean Hannity's show, with Juan Williams providing the straight-man routine.

The occasion was a discussion of the embassy protest in Cairo:

HANNITY: He gave 1.5 billion taxpayer dollars to the Muslim Brotherhood -- Islamists hit our embassy and took our flag down, and put an Al Qaeda flag up there! Where is he? Where is Mr. President leadership?

WILLIAMS: Excuse me, but I believe the Bush administration and the Obama administration have supported a freedom agenda in the Middle East -- pro-democracy, and people vote in a way we don't like.

HANNITY: This was never pro-democracy, Juan! This was always the Muslim Brotherhood was going to be in power!

WILLIAMS: It is pro-democracy! They elected the guy from the Muslim Brotherhood!

OBENSHAIN: This president has been steadfast in supporting -- promoting Islam. He does not defend religious -- he does not -- he is not standing -- he never promotes Christians or -- in fact, in fact, attacks them!

WILLIAMS: Oh, stop. Come on Kate. He is not promoting Islam.

OBENSHAIN: Absolutely he is, Juan. Again and again, he puts down Christians, he puts down the Israelis, he goes after them.

WILLIAMS: He is promoting America's national interests and trying to find peace.

OBENSHAIN: He is not promoting religious freedom for anybody except Islam.

Obviously, dog whistles are no longer in vogue at Fox. Now they're just being bigots in plain sight.
