Certainly You Assumed Sharron Angle Likes The U.N., But You Were Wrong

How long until I get the nuclear launch codes?

Sharron Angle was forced to speak words yesterday, as she has yet to come up with the brilliant idea to have her campaign say she has a throat infection that makes her mute for the next few months. "The United Nations resides on our soil and costs us money. We are — I don't see any place in the Constitution with those priorities about the United Nations. So when we start talking about cutting programs, 5-percent per year, I think the United Nations fits into that category, yes," she said. How can we be members of the United Nations when the Constitution and Bible don't even MENTION it?

If the Constitution wanted us in the U.N., it would have told us to be members in the U.N., because the Bible would have told us to be in the U.N. But the Bible does not explicitly say that the United States of America should be a member state of the United Nations. This is simple political science, folks. Scientifically, you cannot be in the U.N. if the Constitution or Bible don't say you can.

And NO, the fact that the Constitution and Bible didn't prophesy about the U.N. doesn't mean that those texts are fake. They are truth. So it's the U.N. that doesn't exist. So then why are we giving it money if it doesn't exist?

And why does Sharron Angle always have to EXPLAIN this stuff to you idiots? [HuffPo]

On a positive note, it appears the U.S. Rescue Cavalry has arrived. "Devastating flooding has left a fifth of Pakistan underwater, affecting 14 million people, many of whom are now dependent on humanitarian aid to survive, and killing 1,600. Public health officials fear water-borne diseases may make matters even worse with "hazards from dirty floodwater warming in the daytime summer heat." And while this story is obviously about a humanitarian crisis, there are geo-political considerations, given security concerns in Pakistan and its role in the region. The Pakistani Taliban, for example, has said it's prepared to help flood victims -- but only if the Pakistani government agrees not to accept assistance from the United States. Fortunately, Pakistani officials have done the opposite, and the U.S. is responding in a country where America isn't especially popular. The Washington Post noted, "While the ultimate impact on Pakistani public opinion is unknown, the United States has earned rare and almost universal praise here for acting quickly to speed aid to those hit hardest." From the President's remarks at the White House Iftar dinner:
Now, that's not to say that religion is without controversy. Recently, attention has been focused on the construction of mosques in certain communities -– particularly New York. Now, we must all recognize and respect the sensitivities surrounding the development of Lower Manhattan. The 9/11 attacks were a deeply traumatic event for our country. And the pain and the experience of suffering by those who lost loved ones is just unimaginable. So I understand the emotions that this issue engenders. And Ground Zero is, indeed, hallowed ground.

But let me be clear. As a citizen, and as President, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country. (Applause.) And that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances. This is America. And our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakeable. The principle that people of all faiths are welcome in this country and that they will not be treated differently by their government is essential to who we are. The writ of the Founders must endure.
Strong language from Obama honoring our nation's long-held values. That'll set off the right-wingers. Because, you know, "our commitment to religious freedom" is only as old as this nation.
(Mark Williams, a controversial tea party political movement supporter, said the center would be used for "terrorists to worship their monkey god.")

Quote of the Day By now you know that Bill O'Reilly had one of his trade-mark on-air gastro-intestinal upsets at Jennifer Anniston and accused her of promoting promiscuity among twelve-year-olds during an interview to promote her new movie, The Switch. Well, Ms. Anniston finally responded, and she totally wins this one, and gets our QotD in the process: "'Of course, the ideal scenario for parenting is obviously two parents of a mature age. Parenting is one of the hardest jobs on earth,' Aniston tells PEOPLE exclusively. 'And, of course, many women dream of finding Prince Charming (with fatherly instincts), but for those who've not yet found their Bill O'Reilly, I'm just glad science has provided a few other options.'"

Heroes demand impeachment of Obama-Hitler

What, no soul patch?

"Barack" sounds kind of German, doesn't it? We mean, if you've never heard German before … and Obama is just like Hitler in every way, if by "every way" you mean "a little Hitler mustache has been painted on his upper lip." But what are these people campaigning for, on the roadside of America? MORE »

'Cause the victims of the Crusades brought it upon themselves

Adulterous diaper-wearing toe-sucking flagwavers: sacred ground of gay bars, betting parlors and porn shops will be forever defiled by religious building.

The
Mahablog:

So over the past several days I have documented that within a three-block radius of the area called Ground Zero there are at least two strip clubs, plus a number of bars (one popular with lesbians). This morning through googling I found a lingerie and porn video shop about two blocks south of Ground Zero that a reviewer calls "grimy" and "sleazy." Those establishments have existed in close proximity to Ground Zero lo these many years, and no one seemed to care.

Yet talk about putting up a cultural center within this same area, one that won't even be visible from the Ground Zero site, and suddenly people start squawking about "hallowed ground" and "sacrilege." Give me a break.
We hate them for our freedoms! Or something like that.
