Last night, two Muslim men were removed from a plane departing from Tennessee and set to arrive in Charlotte, North Carolina. Both the men were dressed in traditional Muslim garb, which made the pilot uncomfortable and caused him to refuse to fly them to their destination.

Their destination?

...as a local news affiliate reported, [the men] were on their way to Charlotte to attend "a conference of imams, where they would be discussing 'Islamophobia,' the fear of Islam."

For the fourteen-bazillionth time: more drilling won't lower gas prices. That is simply a fact. Whether you like that fact or not is irrelevant.

Some Chinese may be steaming eggs in urine but Florida is about to grow its crops in such waste. After a heavy lobbying effort by industry, Florida is about to rescind a ban on the use of human waste to treat crops. Soon more than 90 companies will be pumping waste from about 100,000 septic tanks on to their fields — an estimated 40 million gallons treated with lime.

The Texas legislature finalized a bill that requires doctors to take a sonogram and offer to show the image to the patient before performing an abortion. Gov. Rick Perry is expected to sign the bill immediately.

The bill requires a doctor to conduct a sonogram at least 24 hours before an abortion and to give the woman the opportunity to see the results and hear the heartbeat of the fetus. Though the woman can choose not to view the images and hear the heartbeat, the doctor must describe what the sonogram shows, including the existence of legs, arms and internal organs. "This will be one of the strongest pieces of sonogram legislation in the nation," the bill's author, Representative Sid Miller, a Republican from Stephenville, told reporters. Mr. Miller predicted the measure would "save numerous unborn lives." Because the measures passed both houses of the Legislature with a two-thirds majority, it will go into effect as soon as the governor signs it.

A volunteer at a Texas church home to the largest congregation in the United States has been charged with sexually abusing an autistic child. Tax free.

We are starting to think that Texas just does this shit to see if they can get a rise out of us and make the Newswrap Fort Worth has removed the word "public" from their public libraries. Because it sounds socialist. The stupid...it burns...like a Texas wildfire. (Or good ol' fashioned bookburning, as the case may be.)

Texas is the coolest.

There will be many more of these and no matter how many troops we have on the ground, it's not going to end because US troops are there. It's the longest war the US has ever fought. There is no clear end in sight and no obvious goal for the US military other than fighting for the sake of fighting. If the Taliban wants Kandahar, go for it, but get the US troops back home and shift those billions back to the US where it's desperately needed and required. The Observer:

In Wisconsin, the Republicans in the state government are hoping to rush a packed slate of radical measures through the Legislature within the next eight weeks. Critics accuse them of accelerating the ratification process to get ahead of this summer's recall elections and the possibility of Democrats taking a majority of seats in the state Legislature.

Here's a little something to keep an eye on in Transasia that our media isn't reporting but that we would bet cash money is true. "Some of the terrorist measures taken against the Islamic Republic could be traced to Pakistan, spokesman for the Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said on Saturday. ... "Therefore establishing Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan triangle for fighting terrorism could help cut the hand of the US and its allies off the region," Majlis news agency (ICANA) quoted Jalali as saying. ... Jalali describe the establishment of a security apparatus in the region as an effective measure to preserve security and stability in the region and said the best way to fight terrorism was close cooperation between security and intelligence apparatuses of Iran and Pakistan.  ... In a meeting with Pakistani Senate Chairman Farooq H Naik on Thursday, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani stressed the cooperation between the two countries' security apparatuses. ... "The Americans have increased their attacks against certain parts in Afghanistan and Pakistan by taking advantage of their position in the region, and they are trying to portray their actions as anti-terrorist and a justification for their military presence."

Finally a member-in-good-standing of the M$M apologizes for the whole Trump fiasco. All 20 years of it. "America, as a nearly 20-year professional journalist, it is with the utmost sadness that I offer to you a heartfelt and sincere apology for my industry's creation and spectacle of the individual we all know, some love, and others despise, as Donald John Trump Sr. ... For the last two decades, my beloved media industry has chronicled every crazy antic, sadistic statement, business announcement, marriage, divorce, birth announcement and the selling of multiple products as if our livelihood depended on showering gobs of ink and airtime on "The Donald." ... We have afforded him the kind of respect normally reserved for people who have truly made a major difference in this world. Instead, the builder of gaudy buildings replete with the kind of extravagance that would make a Saudi oil titan blush, has demanded he be referred to as Mr. Trump."

Watching this video the Pentagon released of him watching himself on teevee and rehearsing for the camera, I was struck with just how brilliant it was to refuse to release the deathmask photo. Instead they not only denied him the martyrdom he sought, they made him into a clown, an object of mockery and derision.

But you know what we won in the bonus round?

Sarah Palin looks like a ridiculous, idiotic, bloodthirsty goon, too; more an equivalent to bin Laden than a rival to President Obama after she spit out her venomous invective and did it with her mean-girl smirk.

I didn't know it was possible for her to manage to present herself as more venal, nasty, hateful or just plain, old mean, but she managed to dig a little deeper and surprise me after the successful mission to rid the world of bin Laden when she all but called the guy who sent the SEALs to shoot the man in the head a pussy for refusing to show the picture as a "warning" to those who would seek the destruction of the United States. Because madmen are notorious for heeding warnings of their demise, you know. (Being made to look the fool, however, they may take steps to avoid.)

No, instead, Obama and company ignored Stupid Sarah and let her shriek and wail and look the fool, then a few days later release the video of bin Laden preening and posturing and practicing his presentation before he releases another homemade video designed to whip up the ideology-drunk followers.

Wow...who does that sound like?
