Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice had eight years to get Osama. They went after Saddam instead and now they are trying to claim credit for Obama's victory that he achieved in two short years. I think they're jealous as hell.

I'll take a high achiever at Harvard over a low achiever at Harvard as my president any day.

$49 billion unpaid by uninsured Link

This is why they fought so hard to keep everyone from getting insurance.
If everyone had insurance, they couldn't charge you $80 for an aspirin.

Since 40M people have no insurance, they charge you $80 for the aspirin
and say, "We have to make up for the uninsured losses," which they caused.

"In the wake of President Obama's decision to not release pictures of Osama bin Laden's body, a number of new conspiracy theories are surfacing claiming that bin Laden is not really dead. Which means Barack Obama will go down in history as the first black person ever to have to prove that he killed someone." –Seth Meyers

Nothing says family values like not knowing your wife's name
Gingrich caught repeatedly misspelling his wife's name on his campaign Web site.  Then again, he's had three wives and a few mistresses too, so it must get confusing after a while.

Black person allowed to read poem at White House despite everything
What next, Stevie Wonder in the White House??

We don't know what happened to this country, but apparently a negro rapper was allowed inside the White House to read his so-called "poetry," like black people have ever written poetry. There was a time, honestly, when black people were kept to the various servant and kitchen positions in the White House. But not with this president, no sir. We've never heard of this rapper "poet" minority, but VIBE senior editor Sarah Palin said he's no good! That's enough for us. (We always trust crazy old white grandmas in Alaska when it comes to choosing our hip hop.)

Reuters reports on this outrage:

Despite the best efforts of right-wing pundits and contradicting earlier reports, controversial rapper Common went through with his White House appearance at Michelle Obama's poetry event Wednesday. Earlier reports suggested that he wasn't there, but a White House video confirms that he showed up later than expected.

The Daily Caller earlier reported that he wasn't in attendance at the afternoon session, saying that when the first lady welcomed the poets who had been invited, she neglected to mention Common, and reporters did not see him at the event. But he apparently showed up for the evening session and even tweeted about his presence there.

When the Daily Caller starts screwing up on its urban music coverage, we might as well say good-bye to music journalism in general. [Reuters/Hollywood Reporter]

South Dakota bans abortion. Don't think it'll be the only state.

Catholics deny treatment too.

These rights are important because not only can they mean the difference between a pregnant person's life and death, but because reproductive rights are human rights. The right to one's own personal body is the most basic human right there is and virtually all of our GOP leaders in congress have voted in favor of denying half the population that right.

We
knew the excuses for killing collective bargaining in Wisconsin, such as claiming the state was "broke" and that the state was facing a major budget crisis, were a load of bologna, but this is simply ridiculous
Wisconsin says it'll get $636 million more in tax revenue than expected because it's getting better at collecting.

The Republican co-chairs of the Joint Finance Committee said the $636 million windfall makes no difference in Governor Walker's call to strip public employees of their bargaining rights. "[State Senator Alberta] Darling said those changes help local governments deal with cuts in state aid and change some cost drivers down the road," the indispensable Wispolitics reports. Republicans also say they can use the money to avoid some budget cuts -- and to cut some taxes.

You'll remember that when Governor Walker proposed the budget repair bill, the deficit was $137 million. Mr. Walker hailed today's news as "the latest sign that the economy is improving."

We need to end collective bargaining rights to close a budget shortfall of $137 million dollars! And -- by the way -- here's $636 million dollars that we just "found."

For those doing the math, that leaves the state of Wisconsin with a budget surplus of $499 million dollars.

So much for that "budget crisis."

Bristol Palin has face lift for "medical reasons"
..... had all the fat sucked out from underneath her face and suddenly has a new Jay Leno chin
Just any every middle America teen girl.

They can't even lie creatively.

The 20-year-old daughter of 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin tells Us Weekly that she underwent corrective jaw surgery in December, a month after she finished third on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." Her face now appears thinner, with higher cheekbones and an angular jaw.

...

"Yes, it improved the way I look, but this surgery was necessary for medical reasons," she told the magazine for its May 23 issue, which will be on newsstands Friday.

...

"I wouldn't get plastic surgery unless I got in an accident or something terrible and got disfigured," she said.

If anyone knows about "accidents", it's Little Miss Abstinence. Accidental pregnancies are hell on the figure. It's really a shame there's no surgery to remove the mendicant gene.
