The latest figures suggest the practice was far more widespread than has previously been admitted.
"I'm reluctant to criticize any given individual who divorces because moral judgments are hard without more information that it is my business to know – and celebrity divorces are too common to warrant special notice. Hollywood in general and Kim Kardashian in particular support gay marriage. Perhaps that makes sense, if the speed of her divorce reflects a reduced commitment to the marriage."

JERUSALEM — Israeli medics are complicit in the ill-treatment and abuse of Palestinian prisoners, in breach of the Hippocratic oath, two Israeli rights groups said in a report published on Thursday.

@THEHermanCain has given an "exclusive interview" to Ginni Thomas -- let the drunk dialing of his victims begin! "In a bizarre twist, Herman Cain discussed the sexual harassment allegations leveled against him in an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller's Ginni Thomas. Thomas, of course, is the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who faced his own explosive sexual harassment scandal 20 years ago. ... In the interview, Cain professes his innocence, and says the story is just another example of how Washington has a totally different mindset from the rest of the country. ... "That is the D.C. culture: guilty until proven innocent," Cain says."
Senate Republicans shot down another critical piece of President Obama's jobs bill yesterday, refusing to pass a measure to spend $50 billion on highway, rail, transit and airport improvements, and another $10 billion on an infrastructure bank. Democrats have been trying to advance the bill piece by piece since the Senate blocked the entire package last month. Republicans also defeated a measure to provide $35 billion in aid to states to hire teachers and first responders.
###
Senate Republicans voted against President Obama's infrastructure plan yesterday because it would have been funded with a 0.7 percent surtax on those making more than a million dollars a year. Remember this the next time you vote.

The trolls at the Chicago Board of Trade need to hear the creaking wheels:
Someone at the Chicago Board of Trade issued another message to the Occupy Chicago protesters by blanketing them with these McDonald's job applications. The protesters are understandably offended by both the message and by the hundreds of pieces of new litter around them.
Keep it up, guys. You're just making it worse for your arrogant, tone deaf, scumbag selves.

The GOP-dominated Wisconsin Senate has passed a bill ordering teachers to downplay any mention of contraception in sex education classes. Because the only thing you need to know is "God hates fucking."
The new GOP-backed legislation would not ban teachers from discussing contraceptives, but would demand they stress abstaining from sex the only reliable way to avoid sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies. "We are trying to back away from the bill passed last year that we feel mandated sex ed that was too nonjudgmental, too explicit and at too young an age," said Republican state Sen. Glenn Grothman. Democratic counterpart Sen. Jon Erpenbach said Wisconsin was "taking a step back to the Flintstone era" with the legislation.
Note that the GOP rep actually said that the previous bill wasn't judgemental enough.

Tea party Republicans are incredible hypocrites.
Newsweek put together a compilation of letters from tea party-friendly Republicans asking federal agencies for funds for their own districts. For example, Eric Cantor tried to get about $3 billion for a rail project in his state, while decrying rail projects in other states. Other letters are from Allen West, Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, David Vitter and Ron Paul.
Check out "Libertarian" Ron Paul's letter requesting federal government transportation cash for his district, even though Ron Paul would dissolve the Department of Transportion.
Check out Rick Perry's letter begging for $2 billion in stimulus money — STIMULUS MONEY!
Here's tea party favorite Michele Bachmann begging for transportation money.
This is the modern Republican Party. Utterly shameless.

I would think that an endorsement from America's number one Islamophobic, hate-mongering, twisted and overall evil person can't be a positive thing.
Pamela Geller unloads on Rick Perry and endorses Herman Cain.
The latest eruption in the Cain campaign sabotage is the bombshell that Rick Perry was the one who leaked the anonymous sexual harassment charges against Herman Cain.
Perry is a snake. Watch him. He is creepy. And his drunken, freak show speech this past weekend belonged in a Roger Corman film.
I questioned his very bad judgment when I exposed his entire Islamic curriculum, dawah and proselytizing, to Texas school children. But this? Perry is a really bad guy. Only a lowlife (or a Democrat — Perry was Al Gore's campaign manager) would eliminate a better man with innuendo and gossip. Men like Perry do not win on merit.
I endorse Herman Cain. What he doesn't know, we'll teach him.
Do you get the feeling that Geller is not a Perry supporter? Here's the reason why. Simply knowing someone who knows someone who knows a Muslim is enough to get you on Geller's hate list. In any case, a Geller endorsement for Cain is a bit strange. Just a few months back, she had this to say about Cain after he backtracked and apologized for his hard stance on hiring Muslims.
…the only thing Herman Cain had going for him as a candidate was his apparent courage in facing the real enemy within and without. In issuing this apology, he thought he saved his candidacy; in fact, he killed it.
The fact that Geller can ignore her dislike for Herman Cain and now endorse him in the way she has says much about the state of affairs in the Republican primary. Basically, everyone in the GOP wishes there was an electable candidate whose last name was not Romney – a man who cannot get his approval rating within the party above the 25% mark. Unfortunately for them, there isn't. In today's GOP, a sane mind and non-wingnut conservatism gets you a Huntsman-like 2% approval rating.
What all this points to is how truly screwed up the Republican party finds itself…not that they have any awareness of the state their party is in. Between the teabaggers and religious nuts, the Gellers and Bachmanns, the Becks and Palins, the Boehners and Cantors, the Kochs and Norquists and, of course, the haters of anything gay, Islamic or Hispanic, the GOP is on a downward spiral of historic proportions. And the only thread keeping it all together is a common hatred for the current President and an even greater hatred for anything resembling liberalism.
The only question is who crashes first, the GOP or the country they supposedly love.
