This is not an organization that has any business talking morals or values with anyone. We're years past the "it was an isolated incident" that the Catholic Church used to promote. It's sadly the same story in multiple cities around the world and yet the church remains defiant. Hell, as Joe wrote the other day, some church leaders still think they did nothing wrong. Their focus should be on cleaning up their own house, helping the poor and modernizing, but there is no appetite for change within. Instead, it's always about making excuses and cover up.

How did anyone knowing this sleep at night knowing that they
did nothing to protect the children?
In the day's most startling testimony, a detective read internal church memos about a priest who allegedly "joked about how hard it was to have sex with three boys in one week." His accuser also stated that the priest had a "rotation process" of boys spending time sleeping with him.

Defense lawyers argue that Lynn tried to address the problem as secretary for clergy from 1992 to 2004, but was blocked by the late Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua and others in the Philadelphia archdiocese.

The testimony Monday also included a 1992 complaint about a different priest who allegedly molested boys at a church-owned camp three decades earlier.

Give that man a tax break: "Somebody's got to live this life," he says, gesturing to the pristine view from his penthouse villa. "God decided it should be me."

I wonder if Zuckerberg knew his social media site would become a platform for whiny wingnuts, he would do it all over again:

In today's disappointing speech, the President made a series of claims that are simply false.

The President's attacks began with an admission that his assumptions reflect White House spin, not our budget's substance: "I want to go through what it would mean for our country if these cuts were to be spread out evenly." Of course, the assumption that our budget makes these kinds of indiscriminate cuts is false. The House Budget Committee made dozens of specific assumptions to justify our numbers, and we made these assumptions public in the hundreds of pages of text we posted in plain view on the House Budget Committee's website. It's not a "secret plan" to "never tell us where the knife may fall" – it is a specific plan to cut waste, eliminate programs that don't work, end crony politics, and carefully prioritize hardworking taxpayers' money in precisely the way leaders of the President's party have refused to do for over three years. In a related vein, does this new standard allow for analyses of the President's budget to go through what it would mean for the country if the President's $2 trillion tax increase were to be spread out evenly?

Instead of using numbers from the actual House-passed budget, the President's claims relied on false assumptions created out of thin air by the White House.

The reason Ryan and Palin use facebook to spew their bullshit is that there is no accountability. They delete every comment that challenges them, and there are no reporters there to call them liars (like that would happen anyway- Remember when the Klondike cougar freaked out when asked which newspapers she reads? That's as close as we get to grilling these guys).

At any rate, Ezra does the heavy lifting, and guess what- Ryan is lying.

This is possible in countries where Monsanto doesn't own a Supreme Court Justice lock, stock and a 55-gallon-barrel of Roundup Poland is in the process of completely banning the planting of Monsanto's genetically-modified corn anywhere within the nation's territorial borders. The Agricultural Minister said the country was taking the steps because the Roundup-ready corn produces pollen that could kill bees.

A judge yesterday gave a sentence of up to 65 years in prison to the the five police officers who shot unarmed citizens in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and tried to cover up the incident. In the aftermath of the sentencing, New Orleans is looking to clean up its police department.

Shouldn't they get life sentences?

Santa Monica College, a public community college in California, has been so strained by cuts to state education funding that it has had to turn away students, increase tuition, and charge higher fees for classes. The school recently announced a plan to raise prices on its most popular courses, creating an unequal, two-track cost system and raising problems for cash-strapped students who are already struggling to keep up with rising tuition rates.

Santa Monica students attempted to attend a Board of Trustees meeting yesterday but were largely denied, with only a limited number of students allowed in and requests to move to a larger venue rejected. When more students attempted to enter the meeting, about 30 were pepper sprayed by police.

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) appeared to be joking this morning when he told CBS that he thought Mitt Romney should pick former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate. Palin was McCain's famed VP pick in his own 2008 presidential bid, and cited by many as one of the reasons he lost. McCain has endorsed Romney.

"I think it should be Sarah Palin," McCain told CBS' This Morning, laughing. He then listed other possible picks — Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R), and Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels (R). Watch it.

Everything is terrible

GOOD MORNING. Did you have "March 31″ in your Race War Pool? Then you and only you are the winner. (The rest of us will just sob quietly into our Slankets.) The good news is that now roving bands of wilding youths seeking out senior citizens to attack in Toledo, Ohio, are racially transcendent. The bad news is everything else. Here is hippie peacenik Mr. Dallas Watts, a frail old man who was drop-kicked and beaten by a gang of six. "Remember Trayvon," he says he told them when they started surrounding them. It was a call to refrain from attacking someone on the basis of his color, but the Very Rotten Children, 11-17, took it instead as an incitement to do just that, and began kicking the shit out of him while yelling "kill the white man." A Christian group is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. Because allowing men to drown instead of women and children was Godly. Oh, and the famed movie? Totally Marxist.

"Regrettably, popular books and films such as James Cameron's box-office smash have portrayed a false image of Marxist class-warfare as Titanic foundered, with the rich seeking to bribe their way to freedom, the poor deliberately prevented from reaching safety, and the nobility of Christian sacrifice minimized and ridiculed," Phillips observed. "Such depictions are historical nonsense. Titanic 100 is an international event designed to set the record straight by celebrating the true legacy of the men of Titanic who gave their lives for women and children."

The celebration, amusingly, takes place in Branson, Missouri.

There's no need for speculation. The man responsible for the attack on a Planned Parenthood clinic in Wisconsin on Monday has both admitted to the attack and illustrated his motives.

A Grand Chute man accused of setting a fire at a Planned Parenthood clinic made his first appearance Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Green Bay.

Francis Grady, 50, told U.S. Magistrate Judge Sickel he planned to plead guilty, but Sickel ignored the statement and scheduled Grady for an April 19 preliminary hearing.

At one point, Grady interrupted him to ask, "Do you even care at all about the 1,000 babies that died screaming?" [...]

Outside the courtroom, Grady told a Green Bay Press-Gazette photographer, "I just want to give one wink to my girlfriend." When a reporter asked him why he had planted a bomb at the clinic, Grady corrected him, saying, "There was no bomb, it was gasoline." He said he did it because "they're killing babies there." [...]

Outside the courthouse, Grady told reporters, "I'm here to do good and not wrong."

That's right. A "pro-life" nut is here to "do good" by trying to kill people. And he's clearly proud of himself.

Conservatism is a mental illness.

Worst person

Fox News anchor Heather Childers for spreading the most absurd anti-Obama conspiracy theory — ever.

You have to read it to believe it. It makes the birth certificate theory and the terrorist sleeper-cell theory seem tame.

They're absolutely out of their crazed minds.

James Dobson (founder of Focus on the Family):

If you scratch around anywhere near the Planned Parenthood message and the function of Planned Parenthood, you see wickedness; you see evil.

His son Ryan chimed in with what he hopes happens to Planned Parenthood's buildings once abortion returns to being classified as a criminal offense.

I hope what happens is what they did in Germany after World War II that the people living near concentration camps, they walk them through those areas. That's what they did to the Germans, those living near the concentration camps, the government walked them through those places where they were killing people every day saying 'this is what you let happen.' Every Planned Parenthood and abortion provider in America, the people living in those communities around them should have to go through and say 'this is what you let happen.'

And some nutjob named Kristan Hawkins who represents an outfit called 'Students for Life' has uncovered Planned Parenthood's real agenda. It involves bad condoms, low-dose birth control, a bunch of abortions and loads of money.

[PP] give you the lowest ranked condoms that are available on the market today, the lowest ranked by Consumer Reports condoms, so you think Planned Parenthood's great, they're giving you bad condoms, then they're going to give you birth control that can cause breast cancer, they're going to give you low-dose birth control, and then they're going to give you an abortion, and this is their plan to make money.

Remember, this stuff is no longer idle chatter being spoken by a few crazies existing on the right's fringe. This stuff has become mainstream conservative madness.
