What century is this?

Unable to turn the public against sex, the pro-life movement will be on the march Saturday trying to convince women that birth-control pills will kill them.

The right-wing American Life League and a handful of regional organizations will stand around outside U.S. pharmacies and Planned Parenthood chapters this weekend for the second annual "Protest the Pill Day." Dispatches from last year's protests, posted at thepillkills.com, offer a sense of what to expect. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/05/right-wing-protestors-bir_n_212030.html

It is absolutely sickening what we became

Good God. I just read the Boumediene interview on the ABC site.

What we put this man through is criminal.  He needs to testify before Congress and every torture apologist in the body ought to be exposed to the public for the hearltess, soulless, sexually inadequate barbarians that they are.

Boumediene was never a terrorist.  He was an aid worker, an employee of the Red Crescent, the Islamic counterpart of the Red Cross.   He was posted to Sarajevo and his job was to render aid to orphans.  He appears to be the kind of man we need more of, yet for 7 ½ years, Lakhdar Boumediene didn't even have his name.   He was simply detainee number 10005, the series of digits assigned to him when he arrived at the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he was sent after being caught up in a sweep after September 11, 2001.

When he was arrested, he was accused of plotting to blow up the United States and British embassies in Sarajevo.  Yet at Guantanamo Bay, he was never once asked about the alleged plot for which he was initially arrested.

More Bad Bush Decisions Biting Our Butts

This is one Christmas gift U.S. taxpayers don't need.

Construction of a $30 million dining facility at a U.S. base in Iraq is scheduled to be completed Dec. 25. But the decision to build it was based on bad planning and botched paperwork. The project is too far along to stop, making the mess hall a future monument to the waste and inefficiency plaguing the war effort, according to an independent panel investigating contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In its first report to Congress, the Wartime Contracting Commission
presents a bleak assessment of how tens of billions of dollars have been spent since 2001.

Halliburton is an oil field equipment services company, so naturally Bush gave them the contract to feed our troops on the battlefield.

Halliburton got a non-performance contract (meaning they got paid even when they failed to perform) to feed the troops at, say, $50 a meal.  Hey, it's hard serving hot food in a Beheader zone. So Halliburton then hired some other company to feed the troops at $25 a meal, which means Halliburton made $75 per day per troop in the war zone for six years - that's a shitload of money to make for one phone call.

That's why the Bush bastards fabricated a phoney war - so they could make billions in profit and anybody who asked for accounting was labeled "anti-troops" by Bush's whore media, not to mention that the invasion caused $40 oil to go to $135

It was so easy - with the media
behind me and the Democrats
wetting themselves in fear.

Go and read what Wisco has to say about this.

'There has never been a documented case of torture at Guantanamo,'" Jim Inhofe (R-Pissquik) Link

That's like saying there's never been a "documented case" that I like Don Julio. Inhofe also said, "I just don't know whose side Obama is on.

The Failure Of Obamanomics - by Dick Morris (R-Toe Sucker) Link

Excerpt:
Barack Obama has fatally undermined our currency, our solvency, our financial stability and - ultimately - our economy, all to spend money that has had no economic effect!

Is Obama a failure? Not by his lights. His goal was never to stimulate the economy. His goal was to expand government spending, and he used the recession as an excuse to do so. And, by this standard, he is a raging success. With the stimulus spending, the government proportion of gross domestic product will rise from about 35 percent to about 40 percent,
and with health care "reform" it will go soaring into the mid-40s, bringing us to parity with Germany en route to France!

Butt Handjob, Obama wouldn't have had to spend that money if Bush hadn't bankrupted America and broke the entire world.

How many trillions did the Bush bastards lose?
How many hundreds of billions did the Bush bastards steal?
And Obama's a bad guy for trying to fix Bush's Greatest Disaster?

Keep talking, loud and clear and be sure everybody hears you.
We need voices like yours if Obama's going to get his 80 Democratic senators. (He needs 80 senators because 20 of them will stab him in the back)

Why I Now Hate Obama - by top 2008 Obama cheerleader David Sirota

Link

Excerpt:
It started in December when he was asked why he was making Hillary Clinton his chief diplomat after criticizing her qualifications and promising Democratic primary voters that his views on international relations were different than hers. He responded by telling the questioner "you're having fun" trying "to stir up whatever quotes were generated during the course of the campaign." The implicit assertion was that anyone expecting him to answer for campaign statements must just be "having fun" - and certainly can't be serious.

A few months later, in reversing a five-year-old commitment to support ending the Cuban embargo, Obama offered no rationale for the U-turn other than saying he was "running for Senate" at a time that "seems just eons ago" - again, as if everyone should know that previous campaign promises mean nothing.

At least that was a response. After the New York Times recently reported that "the administration has no present plans to reopen negotiations on NAFTA" as "Obama vowed to do during his campaign," there was no explanation offered. We were left to recall Obama previously telling Fortune magazine that his NAFTA promises were too "overheated and amplified" to be taken literally.  It's true that politicians have always broken promises, but rarely so proudly and with such impunity.

We once respected democracy by at least demanding explanations - however weak - for unfulfilled promises. Then we became a country whose scorched-earth campaigns against flip-flopping desensitized us to reversals. Now, we don't flinch when our president appears tickled that a few poor souls still expect politicians to fulfill promises and justify broken ones.

Poor David Sirota - his little idealistic heart has been crushed by the political realities of the presidency. Gee, David, were you nine years old when you told all those vicious lies about Hillary?

Now Sirota's turning on the man who he was willing to lie for less than a year ago. Poor David, forced to grow up and face the real world when all he wanted was a pony.

It's no wonder so much of the Heartland supports torturing the non-Jesused. It's nothing like the things we do to disobedient children.

Question of the Day

This one was first asked by the late great George Carlin years ago: why is it that most of the people who are against abortion are people you wouldn't want to %#@! in the first place?

Ex-SEC chief reincarnated as Goldman Sachs policy adviser

Arthur Levitt Jr., the former chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, will advise the Goldman Sachs Group on public policy issues, the firm announced Tuesday.

via Arthur Levitt, Ex-S.E.C. Chairman, to Advise Goldman Sachs - NYTimes.com.

Well, here's something amazing. It's like protocapitalist buddhism: the endless life-cycle continues. Clinton's SEC chairman, the man who powdered his nose and fondled himself for years and years while companies like Goldman Sachs bilked America with one "Bullshit.com" IPO after another, is now going to work for… wait for it… Goldman, Sachs. Nothing like years of hideously ineffectual non-enforcement to attract those lucrative Wall Street job offers!

More to the point, Levitt was one of the key figures who helped usher in the Financial Services Modernization Act (repealing Glass-Steagall) and the Commodity Futures Modernization Act (deregulating derivatives). Along with Bob Rubin, Larry Summers, and Alan Greenspan, Levitt helped convince Bill Clinton to make two of the most important bad decisions that led to this financial crisis. So it's really a relief to see that he's still around helping to liase between Goldman Sachs and the government. That portends well for the rest of us, doncha think?

....it's time for another wingnut local official to get busted for sending the hilarious racist emails to everybody. Meet Robert J. Weller, president of the Lewiston-Porter School Board somewhere in the sticks about 40 miles northeast of Albany somewhere north of Buffalo but it does not appear on any maps as it is not on Earth. Weller, who ran for the board in 2007 and came in fifth place and somehow got appointed to the the board anyway, because who even cares, apparently he spends all his free time at home forwarding the funnies about the coloreds to "friends and fellow board members." And, as usual, some worry wart P.C. libtards don't get the joke.

GOP senator irked at Obama over health care, not having an R after his name

Let he who ISN'T a hypocritical POS cast the first stone:

Republican't Sen. Chuck Grassley says that President Barack Obama "got nerve" to go sightseeing in Paris while telling lawmakers it's time to deliver on a health care overhaul.

Sen Grassley has some nerve whining now when he and his fellow repukes sat back with their thumbs up their precious assholes as their codpieced faux-cowboy disastermonkey screwed this country over.

Fun fact: Mr Grassley's dear leader Preznit GameBoy went "brushcutting" at his flea-ridden hellhole while intelligence briefs warned him that al Qaeda was planning to attack the US. He did nothing. So for you or ANYBODY from that misadministration to open your pie holes now takes nerve.

Screw you, you pathetic drama-queen.
